Fundraising & Events
Bishopthorpe Pre-school Playgroup relies on fundraising for the majority of its basic supplies from craft materials to toilet rolls! Many fundraising events and activities are planned by a team of volunteers and staff throughout the year.
Activities range from large organised events such as the Annual Toy Fair to smaller activities such as Fundraising Christmas cards.
We are always on the lookout for more volunteers so please consider joining in. You can do as much or as little as you like and we guarantee it will be fun and a good way to meet other parents. If you’re interested in helping out please contact one of the committee or speak to one of the staff who will point you in the right direction.

The Toy Fair
Saturday 9th November 2024
What a day! We are absolutely overjoyed to announce that we made £2294.65 at the Toy Fair today.
Firstly we’d like to say a HUGE thank you to EVERYONE who has helped to achieve such an amazing figure. To the people who have donated toys, the sellers, the raffle ticket buyers, the companies who donated raffle prizes, the lovely people who came to support us on the day, our crew of outstanding helpers, our man with a van, the Playgroup staff team and last but not least, Playgroup’s fundraising team.
Our lovely Playgroup is totally reliant on our fundraising efforts to be able to provide the children not only the day-to-day essentials; like loo roll and food, but also we use the funds raised for the special extras to provide the wonderful experiences the children need to help them develop and grow.
(Everyone needs and deserves glitter and kinetic sand in their lives 🤣)
